Risen from the Ruins

New door for the Temple

Juxtaposition of old and new. This intricately carved door is meant to beautify a small temple. A new roof is being built in the style of the local architecture and a bigger hall has been constructed. The frames just beckoned to be captured.

    1. Yes, I liked the ‘juxtaposition’ idea. This temple has a devout following, especially during Navratras. Now, doors are put in and the roof spruced up. Standing right across, it is surreal to see the frames and the mountains beyond-everything open to nature.
The carving is on wood, which is a feature of the local architecture.
